Sonja

Educational Therapist

MSTC, ET

Hi! I’m Sonja. Teaching has given me the opportunity to inspire and empower young minds. After obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in French and International Public Policy, I earned a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from California State University at Northridge in 2002.

For the past 16 years, I have been teaching at a private elementary school in Los Angeles. Additionally, I work as an educational therapist for preschool through grade 5 and continue my professional growth through my membership with the Association of Educational Therapists. In my practice, I use the Orton-Gillingham multisensory approach, which incorporates multiple learning modalities to support diverse learners.

My specialty is using a targeted, systematic approach to build strong phonological and phonics skills for young children with dyslexia and other learning differences. I also utilize intervention strategies to support students with ADHD, executive functioning challenges, and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), always tailoring my approach to meet the individual needs of each child.

My goal is to personalize the remediation process for each learner and help them grow into confident, independent, and successful students.
