Learning Specialist & EF Coach
M.S.
Hi, I’m Olivia! With over 25 years of experience in education, I am a dedicated and dynamic leader, educator, and consultant committed to fostering academic growth and equity. I hold a Master of Science in Education from Simmons College, along with teaching credentials in both Utah and California. My career has spanned classroom instruction, administrative leadership, educational therapy, and professional development, allowing me to support students and educators in a wide range of contexts.
Currently during the school day, I serve as the Director of Literacy for grades 6–12, where I work collaboratively with faculty and school leadership to enhance literacy across all content areas. I guide strategic initiatives that deepen instructional practice and promote student success by combining evidence-based strategies, data-informed decision-making, and a deep understanding of learning differences. I am trained in Lindamood-Bell, and enjoy using the Orton-Gillingham approach, employing multi-sensory, systematic, explicit phonics instruction to align with the science of reading.
Previously, I led the Academic Support program at Milken Community Schools, where I championed inclusive teaching practices, supported students with learning differences, and developed innovative literacy and executive functioning workshops. In addition, I’ve loved working in private practice, partnering closely with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver highly individualized interventions.
As a passionate mentor and systems thinker, I bring a visionary mindset to every role—whether I’m designing curriculum, leading professional development, or cultivating a school-wide culture of literacy. My work reflects a deep commitment to empowering both educators and students through compassionate, collaborative, and effective practices.
