Julie
Learning Specialist/Executive Functioning Coach
MA
Born and raised in Los Angeles, I earned my B.S. from Baylor University in Waco, Texas, and my M.A. in Sports Management and Human Performance from the University of Alabama. I currently work at an all-boys high school in Los Angeles as their Director of Academic Support and helped build their full-time comprehensive Student Support department. I serve a wide variety of students, cultures, learning styles, and learning disabilities. I truly understand the impact learning differences have on students, and the way executive functioning impacts all areas of one’s life. I enjoy the challenge of working collaboratively to turn each student’s challenges into strengths and tools they can use to thrive in the classroom and beyond.
With over thirteen years of experience working in both high school and collegiate athletic academic settings, I have developed a unique understanding of the importance of providing students with an environment where they are challenged to learn and grow within a supportive, encouraging, and consistent community.
I love surrounding myself with friends and family, cooking, sports, animals (especially my dog, Winnie), spending time outdoors, water sports, and traveling.
