Hannah

Learning Specialist/EF Coach

M.S.TC, M.AT

Hi, I’m Hannah, a California credentialed elementary educator with extensive experience across K-12, catering to diverse learning profiles. My teaching career spans seven years, though my work with children began 14 years ago. I hold a Master’s in Teaching from USC, an English Learner Authorization, and a certificate in Specialized Use of Technology in Educational Settings.

My passion for education was sparked early, especially after witnessing my younger brother’s struggles with learning differences and the impact of negative teacher interactions. This experience drove me to develop a teaching style that adapts to each student's unique needs and motivations, which I first applied successfully with my brother, now a USC graduate and business owner.

During my undergraduate studies, I tutored high school students with ADHD and autism, and supported a family with twins facing emotional and developmental challenges. While earning my Master’s at USC, I student-taught in Title I schools, collaborated on IEP and 504 plans, and focused on understanding each student’s needs through one-on-one interactions. These experiences deepened my commitment to inclusive education.

After graduation, I considered pursuing a doctorate in neuroscience to innovate classroom interventions but chose to focus on teaching. I was recruited as an Executive Functioning coach, working with students facing ADHD, borderline personality disorder, and Oppositional Defiant Disorder. I also became a Reading Intervention teacher and later, a kindergarten teacher, where I designed lessons tailored to individual student needs. My training includes Jan Richardson Guided Reading, Fountas and Pinnell, and Cognitively Guided Instruction.

In my teaching, I start by learning about each student’s interests, strengths, and needs, and then create individualized plans that build confidence and foster a love for learning, equipping them with lifelong strategies for success.
