Genevieve

Educational Interventionist

B.A. CADV, IP M.ET

Hello, my name is Genevieve!

I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and moved to Southern California back in 2012. My sweet cousin with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Dyslexia, and Auditory Processing Disorder, is the one who inspired me to pursue an interest in the field of special education. He is such a character!

After graduating high school, I got my A.A. in child Development at Ventura college and went on to California State University, Northridge (CSUN). In 2021, I earned my B.A in Child and Adolescent Development. I am currently a graduate student at CSUN, working to obtain my M.A. in Educational Therapy. I anticipate graduating in December of 2023.

I have interned at Panorama City Elementary School. There, I was able to work in small support groups with children from kindergarten-3rd grade to help them with their reading and math struggles. I have also worked as a Behavioral Interventionist, working in-home, as well as through virtual telehealth sessions with Easterseals of Southern California. I have experienced working with clients with non-verbal learning disabilities who used an AAC communication device. I’m always up for a challenge to help all children by scaffolding them toward the finish line of accomplishments and feeling successful. Growing up, I’ve always had a love for kids, and I want to make a difference for children and families by helping them with their educational challenges. I truly enjoy working with families and children in a 1:1 environment.

My love for kids is paralleled to my love of animals, especially dogs and cats. I have two adorable Dachshunds. Besides my dogs, I love spending time with my family, especially my nieces and nephew. I love watching football (Go Seattle Seahawks!) and I’m always happy to go out for Sushi!
