Educational Therapist, Mindfulness & Executive Functioning Coach

M.P.H., C.M.F., ET

I graduated from the University of Chicago with a Bachelor's in Anthropology (Honors Distinction) and an emphasis in Medical Anthropology. I then went on to receive a Master's of Public Health in Global Health and Human Rights from the Boston University School of Public Health. Since my post-graduate years, I have worked in the field of health and education in a variety of capacities: as an elementary school English teacher in Mexico, a teaching assistant for multiple graduate seminars at Boston University, and as a tutor and Executive Functioning Coach for students from elementary grades through the college years, focusing on students with various learning differences. Many of my students have profiles that include ADHD diagnoses and Executive Functioning deficits, and I excel in helping students who are struggling with school-related emotions and test-based anxiety. In addition, I am a Certified Mindfulness Facilitator, having completed my intensive training through UCLA's Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior. I have become well-versed in supporting students with mindfulness strategies for anxiety, stress reduction, and emotional regulation; these techniques help students with their academic lives and throughout their adulthood.

As an Educational Therapist, I focus on supporting students with learning differences in math through Pre-Calculus, English, reading, and writing through the graduate level, Life Sciences, and standardized test preparation for the ISEE. I am also a trained Executive Functioning Coach and enjoy supporting students as they develop skills in planning, organization, and time management. Further, I am trained as a Step Up to Writing instructor, able to provide structured and systematic writing support to students of all grade levels. What I love most about this work is scaffolding students on a deeper level, and helping them to experience successes by better understanding, embracing, and building on their own unique learning styles and strengths. In my free time, I love spending time with my loved ones, dancing, cooking, traveling, and doing anything outdoors.
