Colette
Learning Specialist & EF Coach
MA
Hello! I am a Learning Specialist and Executive Function Coach with nearly 30 years of experience supporting students with diverse learning profiles and additional needs. My work focuses on helping students build strong learning strategies, confidence, and independence so they can reach their full potential.
I support middle school and high school students with literacy, numeracy, organization, planning, homework support, test preparation, and confidence-building. I work closely with families and schools to provide individualized, student-centered support and have extensive experience developing and implementing effective learning plans aligned with students’ unique needs.
In addition to my work as a Learning Specialist, I bring a strong background in special education and classroom teaching. I currently teach high school Algebra in a small-group setting and co-teach in a general education classroom, experiences that inform my ability to support students navigating academic demands in real-time school environments.
I also have formal assessment experience, including administering the WIAT and WJ IV, which allows me to thoughtfully interpret learning profiles and tailor instruction for students with learning disabilities, ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and anxiety.
My approach is calm, structured, and flexible. I strive to create a supportive environment where students feel understood, capable, and never rushed. I am deeply committed to helping learners develop the academic, executive functioning, and self-advocacy skills they need to become confident, independent, lifelong learners
