Catherine
Learning and Reading Specialist
PhD, CCC-SLP
As an educator and clinician specializing in dyslexia, auditory processing, executive function, social communication, and other language-based learning differences, I have dedicated my clinical teaching career to advancing communication development in the students I serve.
In my work in both private practice and school settings providing 1:1, small group, and class-wide intervention and assessments, and managing the learning plans of students in kindergarten through 12th grade, I see rapid progress by individualizing the instruction to use students’ strengths to develop their weaker-by-comparison language skills.Â
Being a clinically trained speech pathologist and former consultant for Lindamood-Bell Learning processes, I’m also well-versed in multi-sensory, explicit approaches for remediating both complex reading and written language disorders. With a PhD from Florida State University and the Florida Center for Reading Research, I’ve been trained by the authors of, and grounded in, the research that we now call the Science of Reading.
I’m committed to helping each student recover their confidence and discover their innate abilities as competent learners and communicators with an impactful, tailored approach to their specific learning needs.
