Aly

Learning Specialist/EF Coach

M.Ed.

Hello All! I’m Aly, a passionate educator with a love for helping students find their flow and optimize their learning. I have over fifteen years of experience working inside the classroom as a certified Waldorf teacher and outside the classroom as an educational specialist and consultant. I began my own journey in education after working in outdoor education and falling in love with alternative education forms. I earned my Multiple-Subject Teaching Credential and Master's of Art in Multicultural Education from California State University Dominguez Hills. This led me to teach in a Waldorf-inspired public school for ten years. As a lead teacher in a Waldorf classroom, I created project-based curricula, supported students in finding their passion and love for learning, and created bonds with students that helped them find their optimal learning zone.

I then earned my Waldorf Credential from Rudolf Steiner College and a Transitional Kindergarten certification just this past year so I can support even the youngest of learners. In addition to being an educator and Learning Specialist, I am also an Educational Specialist and consultant who specializes in finding the best curriculum and learning environment for homeschooled families and self-directed learners. Along with teaching academics, I am also a social-emotional educator for TK- 8th-grade students and trained in social justice and conflict resolution.

Throughout my career, I have supported diverse learners. I have worked with students with IEPs, 504 plans, Dyslexia, ADHD, Autism, and other extraordinary needs. My time inside the classroom made me realize that all students learn differently and there is no one-size-fits-all for education. I have become an advocate for finding what fits each individual student. It is my passion to support students in finding their personal flow and what works for them. It is my strong belief that all students can succeed when given the right tools and by adopting a growth mindset.

I am a lifelong learner and my curiosity is perpetually peaked. It is my goal to help all learners find what works for them and support them in finding their individual learning styles through organizational skills, and tools for regulation while building resilience and adaptability. I am excited at the prospect of supporting your student through their educational journey!
