Allie

Learning Specialist + Executive Functioning Coach

MA

Hi! I’m Allie, a passionate educational specialist committed to helping students reach their full potential academically and personally. With years of experience working with second- to eleventh-grade students in various settings—such as one-on-one tutoring, small groups, and classrooms with diverse learners—I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the unique needs of each learner. I believe in a whole-child approach, focusing not just on academics but on empowering students with skills and strategies they can apply throughout their lives.

I hold both a BA and MA from Loyola Marymount University.

After completing my master’s degree, I earned my teaching credential from California State University, Long Beach. Throughout the program, I obtained multiple credentials and certifications to better serve diverse learners, including students with learning differences, those with ADHD, those who have ASD, students with IEPs, 504 plans, English learners, neurodiverse students, and GATE students. My approach is highly personalized, focusing on each student’s strengths, challenges, and goals.

I have also been a certified Advancement via Individual Determination (AVID) English teacher in the LAUSD public school system. I am, therefore, specialized in integrating rigorous instruction on reading, writing, inquiry, and organization with explicit strategies for executive functioning skills, such as task and time management, note-taking, and self-advocacy. In addition, I’ve had tremendous success helping students find their unique writer’s voice, bearing in mind the frustrations and often overwhelming emotions that arise throughout the writing process. Whether it's crafting study plans for essays and reports, breaking down complex texts, or guiding active reading and note-taking, I help students grow academically as they become more confident, organized, independent, and proactive learners.

I truly believe that when students feel seen, supported, and challenged in the right ways, they can thrive. Watching students grow in their love for learning and celebrating progress—big achievements and small—is the most rewarding and inspiring part of what I do. I’m excited to meet you and to get started!
