Alex

Learning Specialist & EF Coach

Hello! I am a private educator and academic mentor who works with students in upper elementary, middle school, and high school across a wide range of subjects. I specialize in supporting bright students who may feel disengaged in traditional classroom settings, as well as students who benefit from individualized pacing, executive functioning support, and confidence-building.

I have experience working with diverse learning profiles, including students with ADHD and those with 504 plans or IEPs. My work focuses on helping students rebuild momentum, strengthen study habits, and develop the skills needed for long-term academic independence.

I studied at Stanford University, where I majored in Mandarin Chinese, and I bring a broad academic background that allows me to support students across core subjects including math, science, humanities, writing, foreign language, and the arts.

Over the years, I have worked with students in traditional school settings, private tutoring environments, and homeschool contexts. I’m known for a structured yet personable approach and for helping capable students reconnect with curiosity, confidence, and a sense of ownership over their learning.
